Leeds joined the Fast-Track Cities initiative in February 2023, aiming to eliminate new HIV, TB, and viral hepatitis infections and related stigma by 2030. A workshop in May 2023 highlighted the need to strengthen ties with primary care, implement opt-out HIV testing in emergency departments, and improve healthcare staff knowledge. Leeds has achieved UNAIDS 95:95:95 HIV targets and established a leadership group to unite stakeholders. Key achievements include successful workshops, project grants, and collaborations with other cities. Future goals focus on enhancing data use, increasing testing and prevention efforts, and reducing stigma through community engagement and training.
