Scale 5, SCP 12, £22,183 per annum, pro rata
(Actual per annum salary for 21 hours per week contract is £13,309.80)

BHA is a leading health and social care charity that works to challenge health inequalities and support individuals, families & communities to improve their health & well-being. We offer a range of unique services delivered at local, regional, and national level in the areas of health promotion, community health education and engaging and involving communities in health and social care decision making.
The worker will develop and deliver community engagement activities with individuals, community groups, religious and community leaders, other health providers/services and the business sectors. These will be a combination of online and face to face.
They will support people to develop their skills and knowledge to use the internet to access information, use digital tools to enable their ability to remain connected and improve their health and wellbeing. They will work with our target communities with the aim of helping them to become more digitally engaged.
With the team, the worker will contribute to maintaining our online presence via our social media platforms and create regular content which promotes and advertises the prevention service.
The successful applicant will work alongside communities, individuals, statutory and non-statutory organisations, community groups, religious leaders, and the business sector to promote sexual health and access to services which are appropriate to the needs of the community. The role will involve dissemination of key sexual health promotion and HIV prevention messages, including those addressing stigma and barriers to services, delivered through community-based outreach, one-to-one and group-based interventions (including HIV screening/testing services) to prevent ill health and improve the health and well-being of individuals, populations, and communities.
The post holder will have a wide understanding of African culture and of perceptions amongst African communities in England relating to HIV.
